On January
16th, J.M. Vohs, of the Dept. of Chemical Engineering at the University
of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, presented a Fuel Science Seminar entitled,
"Catalytic anodes for the direct oxidation of hydrocarbons in
solid oxide fuel cells." This was followed by two speakers closer
to home. The first was: Frank Huggins of UK's Dept. of Chemical and Materials
Engineering, and was called "Trace elements in coal and ash: A
spectroscopic view." The third speaker for this period was John
Chaney from U of L who spoke on "Surface chemistry of oxygen,
carbon and hydrogen on indium tin oxide with implications on work function
modification." |
