Power Generation and Utility Fuels Research Group

The University of Kentucky, Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER) anticipates adding a number of new engineering, scientist, and technician positions in the next several months due to the program expansion in the both the carbon capture and biomass energy areas. The new positions will be involved in multidisciplinary studies related to various aspects of advanced combustion, gasification, emissions mitigation and thermal processing systems, including issues related to CO2 capture. A summary of the positions are listed below.

Anticipated Professional Positions:

PostDoctoral Position. A postdoc needed to work in the area of chemical looping (CLC) /Oxy-fuel combustion. The person in this position will be responsible for pilot/bench-scale system design, construction and operation including monitoring, troubleshooting, laboratory testing, process equipment operation, data analysis and reporting. Materials development for CLC will also be part of this position including procedure development, equipment operation, materials testing, and characterization. Familiarity with TG/MS and flue gas analytical equipment a plus. Chemical or materials engineer or chemist encouraged to apply.
