The CAER recently held celebrations in honor of its 25th Anniversary. Event highlights are detailed below.

About 160 people gathered at the Lexington Hyatt Regency on Wednesday evening, October 9th to take part in the CAER's 25th Anniversary Celebration. The evening began with a reception before dinner. CAER Director Ari Geertstema welcomed the employees and guests and explained the events of the evening. Through the efforts of Advisory Board member David Drake, the combined Tates Creek and Henry Clay High School choruses performed several songs that led to a spontaneous standing ovation. Post dinner entertainment included short talks by David Drake, Frank Burke (Advisory Board Chairman), and the father of the energy center, Senator Wendell Ford. The Senator made an outstanding speech, which brought people to their feet.

Several folks were recognized including the six CAER employees who have withstood the test of time to remain at the lab for the last quarter century. Also, those Advisory Board members who have remained on the board since its inception in 1990 were recognized for their dedication. The final event of the evening was an outstanding Powerpoint presentation, produced by the CAER Social Committee (Jack Groppo, Jim Neathery, Gisele Rabchevsky, Bob Rathbone, and John Wiseman) and performed by Jim Neathery. It brought back many memories and smiles to everyone.
