Bottom ash and boiler slag

#2 - BOTTOM ASH & BOILER SLAG: Bottom ash is coarse ash particles that are too heavy to be carried up in the flue gas. Some boilers (cyclone) operate at higher temperatures, where the bottom ash becomes molten and then cools into dense granules (boiler slag). The cooled granules are combined with water and pumped to the impoundment.
