Market Impacts of Sulphur Control

AUTHOR: Jan L. Vernon
DATE: October 1989
PAGES: 111

ABSTRACT:
The report is organised in two parts. The first part provides an overview of SO2 control strategies in major coal-using countries, and assesses the implications of these strategies for the use of existing coal-fired plants and for investment in control equipment, investment in new coal combustion technologies, and fuel choice. The second part of the report comprises a series of annexes describing in more detail the SO2 control strategy of each country and its impacts on coal use within that country.
