Computers and Air Pollution Control

AUTHOR: Hermine N Soud
DATE: May 1999
PAGES: 39

ABSTRACT:
Computers have become a vital part of a power station operating and control system. Digital control systems (DCS) are being used to store historical data, gathered through plant engineering and operating experience. New software which uses the data stored in the DCS is being used to assist plant operators in the analysis and optimisation of plant operation, including integrated emissions control. Numerous dedicated software packages are being used in the field of control technology to minimise air pollutant emissions, mainly Nox control is also available. The suppliers of relevant software packages are included as well as computer system set-up and requirement details.
