Kentucky Mining Engineering Scholarships

The Kentucky Mining Engineering Scholarships are available to undergraduate students majoring in Mining Engineering at the University of Kentucky. The program was established over 20 years ago by the Commonwealth of Kentucky to assure an adequate supply of mining engineers to meet the needs of the state mineral industries. Students must meet the requirements for admission to the College of Engineering to qualify for the scholarship.

The amount of the KMES award is based on high school GPA and ACT scores for incoming freshmen and college GPA for transfer students. The student's academic performance will be evaluated by the KMES Scholarship Committee each semester to determine the level of support for the next semester. No financial aid will be granted under the KMES Program to any student not in good standing with the College of Engineering. The CAER makes a very substantial annual contribution to the scholarship fund.
