Abstract:
Both laboratory and semi-pilot plant scale experiments were performed to obtain pellet type activated carbon. Two kinds of Chinese coals and a subbituminous Indonesian coal were used as the feed to the process. The effects of various operating variables on the process yield and quality of the product were investigated. The experimental variables for this study were activation temperature, activation time, and steam amount.
