Eduardo Santillan-Jimenez, a student working with CAER's Mark Crocker (Biofuels Group) has been awarded a Dissertation Enhancement Award by the Graduate School. This will enable him to spend 3-4 months at the University of Alicante, Spain (Carbon Materials & Environment Group), where he'll conduct research in support of his Ph.D. thesis (concerning the development of NOx reduction catalysts based on carbon nanotubes).

The top photo above shows (from left) Bill Downs (speaker), Rodney Andrews (CAER Director), Jim Neathery (speaker), Scott Rutherford (speaker), and Kunlei Liu.CAER Program Manager, Kunlei Liu, organized a short course on Pollution Control that was held October 24th in Frankfort, Kentucky. The course was attended by about 30 attendees from industry, government, and universities.

The CAER held a day of discussions and presentations on October 11th with the Kentucky Energy Summit, designed to bring international speakers to Lexington with the goal of celebrating the Center's 30 years as an energy lab, while promoting stimulating ideas on energy. The fifth issue (September/October) of the 2007 University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research's publication, "Energeia" has now published.
The Kentucky Energy Summit Podcasts and Presentations are now available. The Energy Summit was hosted by the University of Kentucky Center for Applied Energy Research in celebration of CAER's 30th Anniversary.
