In January the leadership team for the state's STEM Girls Collaborative participated in a webinar, held a meeting, and then toured -- all at CAER. Shiela Medina, Associate Director for the Development and Community Engagement Group is on the board.
Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, along with adviser Scott Shapiro, and CAER Advisory Board President, David Drake, visited the laboratories and held discussions on potential mutual interest.

The UK chapter of the Kentucky Energy Club yesterday arranged a very successful tour of one of the university’s two coal-fired steam plants, to show how the campus is heated. Expecting no more than 20 students, around 60 people (both students and the general public) participated.
The student newspaper the Kentucky Kernel ran an interesting article that describes the tour and the facility well.
