12/04/2009 Archived Entry: "Former Advisory Board Member is American Chemical Society President-Elect"
Congratulations to former CAER advisory board member Dr. Nancy B. Jackson, President-Elect, American Chemical Society (ACS). Dr. Jackson served on the Centerís advisory board from 1996 to 2001. A graduate of George Washington University, she received a Ph.D. from the University of Texas in 1990. She has been the Sandia National Laboratories, International Chemical Threat Reduction Department Manager since 2007. In addition she is an associate research professor at the University of New Mexico and has held several ACS national offices.
She has also been involved in Native American science education for many years. Through Sandia National Laboratories, she worked with three tribal colleges and a liberal arts college that serve Native Americans. She brought students from these schools to her lab for summer enrichment programs.
