12/02/2009 Archived Entry: "Parekh Recipient of AIME Award"
Dr. BK Parekh has been selected by the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers to receive the 2010 Frank F. Alpan Award. About the award, the society says,
“For outstanding and innovative life-long achievements in the areas of mineral and coal processing, development and commercialization of novel processes and advancing the art and science of fine coal dewatering. Parekh has been a pioneer for introducing fine coal recovery column flotation systems in the coal industry and applying mineral processing technology to non-mineral applications.”
The award will be presented before his peers at the annual banquet and awards ceremony in March, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ.
