01/22/2009 Archived Entry: "CAER's Second Energy Fair as Successful as the First"
Wind, solar, biofuels and fossil fuels were on the agenda for the CAER's annual energy fair January 21st. Fourth-grade students from Breckinridge, Millcreek and Harrison elementary schools were treated to stage demonstrations and informal hands-on science learning at the individual exhibits.
Exhibitors included: the State Arboretum; Bluegrass Energy; Bluegrass PRIDE; Bluegrass Community and Technical College; E.ON US; the Kentucky Environmental Education Council; and the Minerals Coalition. They were joined by groups from within UK: the CAER; the Kentucky Geological Survey; the Tracy Farmer Institute; the student chapter of the Society of Mining Engineers; the Departments Biosystems and Ag. Engineering; Electrical and Computer Engineering; and Chemical/Materials Engineering.
