Jim Hower has been named co-program chair for the International Pittsburgh Coal Conference (PCC). This is an umlimited term appointment. The CAER has a long history with this distinguished conference. The next conference will be September 21-24, 2009 at the Westin Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.
The PCC is an outgrowth of a series of conferences spanning more than three decades, and dealing with coal utilization both in the United States and internationally. The PCC has been successfully held outside the United States in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2007; Osaka, Japan in 2004; Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia in 2001; and Taiyuan, People's Republic of China in 1997.
