The CAER conducted surveys of Kentucky's coal-fired power plants in 1992, 1997, and
2002 with questionnaries regarding the previous year's statistics.
Previously-published data from a 1978 survey was also incorporated. Surveys involve
both collection of information from utilities and the collection of coal and ash samples from
each power plant. Detailed data on all power plants in the US can be downloaded at
http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/page/eia767.html.
